Dr. Alex Thiel

Dr. Alex Thiel grew up in Michigan before making the Pacific Northwest her home. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Washington State University before graduating from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. After beginning her veterinary career on the Olympic Peninsula, she was thrilled to join the compassionate team at Blue Mountain Animal Clinic.

Dr. Thiel’s passion for veterinary medicine began at a young age when her family’s cat gave birth to a litter of kittens. Witnessing their care and growth sparked a lifelong love of animals and a deep appreciation for the difference compassionate veterinary care can make. As a general practice veterinarian, Dr. Thiel enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and their pets while honoring the special bond that exists between people and their furry family members.

At home, Dr. Thiel shares her life with three beloved companions: Whiskey, a majestic black longhaired cat; Bomber, another feline who has certainly earned his name; and Nox, an energetic dog who has never met a ball he didn’t want to chase.

When she’s away from the clinic, Dr. Thiel enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and gardening, relaxing with a good book, and making memories with her husband, Travis. They are excited to welcome the newest addition to their family later this year.
