Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, a strong understanding of veterinary medicine, and a genuine love for animals. This role involves assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures, providing compassionate care to our patients, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in the examination and treatment of animals, including restraining animals during procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis
- Take X-rays and assist with Ultrasound
- Properly intubate patients and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Properly extubate patients and provide post-operative care and monitoring
- Educate and communicate with clients about their pets' health, medications, and treatments
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment
Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or equivalent experience, preferred
- Strong knowledge of animal handling and restraint techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to veterinary care
- Proficient in basic computer skills and medical record-keeping
- Fear Free Certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain certification
