It lasts for life and contains critical contact information that keeps them connected to you and your family. If your pet gets lost or stolen and a good Samaritan finds them, they can take your pet to the nearest rescue or clinic to be checked for a microchip. When this chip is read, its unique ID number can be entered into a search database and your contact information will be found.
