Why Spay and Neuter?
Is it really that important to spay and neuter dogs and cats? For the most part, yes. While the primary goal of spaying and neutering is to prevent unplanned litters, these surgeries can also be beneficial to your pet’s health and behavior. Spaying female dogs and cats minimizes the risk of mammary gland tumors and prevents uterine cancers and infections. Neutering prevents testicular cancer in males, along with enlarged prostate issues.

How We Keep Pets Safe Under Anesthesia
Blue Mountain Animal Clinic uses state-of-the-art equipment to deliver anesthesia to your pet in the safest possible manner. Patients are sedated and then placed on oxygen mixed with anesthesia to keep them under while the surgery is performed. Our equipment monitors your pet’s heartbeat and rate, oxygen saturation, blood pressure, temperature, CO2, and ECG. Pain control is delivered before, during, and after all procedures so your pet feels minimal discomfort immediately after surgery, and in the following days of their recovery.
